Value Sensitive Design (Spring)

Thu, Feb 02

Today we will continue to learn about different methods practitioners use to explore deep questions about the role of computing in society. Today we will focus on the theoretically grounded approach of Value Sensitive Design. Don’t worry! While theory can be overwhelming, we’ll break it down to understand the “Why” and “How.”

By the end of lecture you will:

  1. Describe and distinguish different theories and frameworks in HCI.
  2. Employ knowledge of major theories in HCI to design.
  3. Analyze good or bad designs through a theoretical lens.
